The Town of Chilmark is a small residential and farming community located on the western end of the island of Martha’s Vineyard. All of the guest accommodations in Chilmark are either bed and breakfasts, inns or cottages. There are no large hotels or resorts in the Chilmark area.
Within Chilmark is the quaint fishing village of Menemsha. The harbor has a commercial pier where fishing vessels tie up and a small yacht marina that is very popular during the summer months. There is also a Coast Guard Station in Menemsha.
The westernmost part of Chilmark is also known as Gay Head or Aquinnah. This area is home to one of the most beautiful areas on the island. Featuring rugged cliffs and one of the most photographed lighthouses in the region.
