That Pilgrim Spring at Truro
According to Arthur Wilson Tarbell, writing in “Cape Cod Ahoy,” the site of the Pilgrim Spring at Truro was discovered in later years by a Bostonian named Dr. William H. Rollins.
The information was gleaned from the archives of the Massachusetts State Capitol, Boston. According to the record, Dr. Rollins first located the spring in the year 1920. He purchased the surrounding land. “When in October, 1929, he died, his will disclosed the curious provision that his ashes and those of his wife should be mingled and scattered over the site of the spring.” This was done by the executor of the will on November 14, 1930.
